Brian Kaufmann

Head of Private Investments

Brian Kaufmann is Head of Private Investments responsible for managing the private equity and structured capital team and a portfolio of private investments across sectors and geographies. Brian was previously a Portfolio Manager and Investment Analyst on Viking’s public equity team, responsible for identifying and researching investment ideas in the healthcare sector. Brian joined Viking in 2009 as a summer intern and returned full-time in 2010. Prior to joining Viking, Brian was an Associate at TA Associates and an Investment Banking Analyst in Merrill Lynch’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Brian received an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a B.S. in applied economics and business management, magna cum laude, from Cornell University. In 2021, Brian was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
