What has inspired you to work at Viking for so many years?
The prime reason I’ve stayed at Viking for so many years is the people I work with. The technology team is such a great group of people with incredible talent. The management team is also committed to keeping both our technology and our skills up to date. The firm provides us with training and invests in back-office technology in a way that’s truly exceptional. I’ve been able to progress my career here, most recently from Systems Administrator to Support Team Lead.
How would you describe the culture of the organization?
I’d say the thing that stands out the most is how much Viking cares about its employees – not just in terms of their job performance but also in terms of their wellbeing. Everyone working at the firm is equally respected, regardless of their role. The firm is also committed to giving back to the community through the Viking Global Foundation. It’s something I care deeply about as well, and for the past few years I’ve served on the Foundation’s Grants Committee.
What do you enjoy about working in Technology at Viking?
I know a key part of Viking’s outstanding performance is the advanced technology that we use and knowing that I have a part in that is greatly rewarding. My passion is exploring new technologies and so I value working at a firm that’s committed to keeping its technology up to date and to installing new systems that can improve processes. I can truly say I enjoy my job every day. I wake up excited to come here.
