What do you value most about your role at Viking?
I have an opportunity to be a strategic partner for my teammates. I’m able to contribute creative ideas and insights on how to improve business processes while providing a high level of team support. Whether it’s collaborating with our technology department to upgrade document management systems or working through the implications of a global pandemic, I am encouraged to think critically and be an integral part of decision making.
How would you describe the culture of the organization?
The culture at Viking is motivating, engaging, and encouraging. Everyone comes into work wanting to be better than they were the day before. It’s also very much a collaborative environment deeply rooted in teamwork. The leadership team has an open door when it comes to communication and is supportive in providing Vikings with mentorship opportunities.
How has your role evolved since you first joined Viking?
I joined the firm as a receptionist in our Greenwich office, partnering with members of the Facilities team to direct all mainline calls, manage the conference room schedule, and assist with organizing company events. This role gave me a holistic view of company operations and prepared me for success in my next position as an administrative professional on the Trading team and, subsequently, my current role as the Connecticut Office Manager. The positions I’ve held at Viking have allowed me to develop strong interdepartmental relationships, acquire new skills, and take on additional responsibilities, including training and managing others.
How have you been able to give back to the community?
I’m grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the community through the Viking Global Foundation. A key focus of my grantmaking work is partnering with organizations that support families and parents in underprivileged communities. It means a lot to me to be able to be an advocate for them through these programs.
